you know what I like
no time for talk
It took you awhile baby,
but once you got it, you definitely got it!
when you kiss me like that
rainbows multiply!
it's tantalizing
to my senses
simple pleasures baby
that's ALL I need
a girl could go crazy waitin on you
come on now, don't tease me...just please me!
So Just Shut Up And Kiss Me!
© ~ Calli 2009
*this poem was conceived last night and suddenly I said to myself okay who did that song, I know, oh yes it's Mary Chapin-Carpenter - gosh haven't listened to country music in like 6 months or so but too perfect, had to put the song/video link below. This sweet image is of Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, just because it exudes the 'playfulness' that this poem was born of... ~ Calli

Calli, you 'take me' places I don't usually go (but should -grin!). Like YouTube and country music, and beautiful words (oh yeah--muwah!).
Something about country-type music--the performers are always SMILING, as if they love what they do. Other artists sing and play with that "look" as if it is for them excruciating, as if they will die any moment. Really turns me off.
(And they "really care about" what turns me on or off as they become billionaires -grin!)
When I'm performing--as yesterday, or the night before--I'm smiling, because I'm happy, and LOVE it! And I'm usually thanking God for the privilege to be able to use the gift He gave me. And occasionally it really lifts people up.
My GOSH, I've got another Blong going here. Excuse moi!
how i like your words today! thanks.
and pop over to my side, there's something for you to collect...
You know, you may be able to be your very own poet, but it is very hard to kiss yourself. Love it!
Well, just "Hush Me!" [loving smile]
Your Cheerleader ...
O I love Cary Grant!
Hi Calli,
Thanks for the kind words you left on my blog. Wow...I did not know that you are a poet as well. I like it very much and I like its idea.
I hope that you write more and more.
I love this, like the idea of rainbows multiplying :)
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh...
Whatever the music that plays for us all, it does get us thinking and writing. When I read your title, I began to sing the song you spoke of. My wife and I did enjoy that CD when it came out in the 90's. Hard to find country music on the radio in NYC area. It is good to hear it when I travel. All the best...
